The Book of Boba Fett episode 5 catches us up on the life of Din Djarin, after that menace Luke Skywalker stole Grogu from our hearts. This episode finally takes us off Tatooine and gives us more Easter Eggs and Star Wars references than in any single episode so far. There are references to The Mandalorian, Clone Wars, Rebels, Rogue One, The Last Jedi, Force Awakens, The Phantom Menace, and every film in the original trilogy.

But more importantly, this sets us up for the Mandalorian Season 3, with Din having a new quest: to redeem himself by returning to Mandalore. It seems like the show is slowly setting him up to be a reluctant messianic figure to the Mandalorian people. After winning the Darksaber from Moff Gideon, many will see him as the rightful heir to the Mandalorian throne.
