Even the bravest of souls knows that there are certain TV shows you should absolutely never watch by yourself. We are in a horror revival on television, with some fantastic frights out there. Netflix’s The Haunting of Hill House stands out as one that’s not too easy to watch alone. It will also help to have someone else watching with you so you can ask them, “Did you just see that?” - so many subtle ghosts and other out of the ordinary things pop up in the background you might think you’re seeing things. Even non-horror fans tuned in to check out Hill House - those especially don’t want to watch it alone.

Black Mirror, a BBC broadcast originally, gained worldwide fame thanks to its appearance on Netflix. The horror anthology really amps up the creep factor, even if a lot of Black Mirror episodes aren’t scary, they are just unsettling enough to make you wish someone else was in the room with you. The odd thing is that even the ones that aren’t scary at all - like Nosedive with Bryce Dallas Howard - are so disturbing that you’ll want someone around so you can talk it over with them.

Hulu’s Castle Rock has done what everyone hoped it would - take the Stephen King universe and tie it together in an entertaining, and scary, series. You knew Castle Rock would be special when you heard that Bill Skarsgård would be on the show - after his turn as Pennywise in IT you know that anything with him in it will be creepy.
